Sigma Camp is designed for high-achieving middle and high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Our high school student, Nicholas, was among 60 participants selected for the second Brazilian edition of Sigma Camp, one of the world’s most prestigious immersive STEM programs. Created in the United States by scientists, the event brings together high-achieving students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Sigma Camp aims to spark scientific curiosity and foster critical thinking by providing an intensive immersion through hands-on challenges, innovative experiments, and interactive activities. Professors and scientists lead these experiences from the world’s most renowned universities, such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Yale, and Princeton.
The program is conducted in English and offers lectures and courses while challenging campers— as participants are called during the event— to engage in investigations, solve complex problems, and develop innovative projects. These include building structures that test their logical thinking skills, creativity, and teamwork.
Nicholas highlights that, in addition to his passion for science, his communication ability played a key role in his success at the event. “RED HOUSE has been a huge help in improving my communication skills. In the beginning, I found it challenging, but with the school’s support, I developed this ability and learned to express my ideas more clearly,” says Nicholas.
