High school students participate in the Knowledge Bootcamp
In early August, Year 10 High School students from the Perdizes Campus participated in the “Knowledge Bootcamp,” an event marking the start of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP).
The first day of the event took place at the school on August 1st and included the participation of RED HOUSE leadership, along with presentations covering important course information such as objectives, dates for assessments, and prerequisites for completing the program, which spans two years. On this occasion, students met with the teachers of each subject they chose to study.
The following week, from August 7th to 9th, the Knowledge Bootcamp continued at a camp located in Brotas (near São Paulo) for an immersive experience. During this unique journey, students were able to deepen their understanding of the course, make connections, acquire new knowledge, and develop socio-emotional skills that will be essential throughout the program.
They participated in workshops to help them understand and plan the projects for the DP’s core subjects (EE, TOK, and CAS) and received guidance on maintaining focus during study periods, understanding the importance of consistent learning, and becoming familiar with technological tools that will support them during the program.
“Our Knowledge Bootcamp was fully designed to give students a comprehensive experience and a clear understanding of what is expected of them until the completion of the DP,” says Laís Ribeiro, Head of School at the Perdizes Campus.
