Art Exhibition Showcases the Creative Journey of Middle Years and High School Students

The exhibition featured works from Year 6 through Year 12 and marked the culmination of the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course in a morning dedicated to artistic recognition and family engagement.

Last week, the Perdizes campus hosted its first Art Exhibition, a showcase celebrating the artistic production of students from Year 6to Year 12. The event opened the school’s doors for a morning of aesthetic appreciation and meaningful connection with families, featuring paintings, photographs, drawings, and projects developed throughout the academic year.

The works on display reflected a strong visual repertoire, growing technical proficiency, and the development of each student’s distinctive artistic voice. Families thoughtfully explored the exhibition spaces, observing details, asking insightful questions, and engaging closely with each grade level’s creative process. The atmosphere was one of genuine interest and appreciation.

For Year 12 students, the exhibition held particular significance, as it marked the completion of the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course. Their final pieces demonstrated conceptual clarity and a well-developed authorial identity — the result of a rigorous and sustained process of research, experimentation, and reflection.

“The Art Exhibition reaffirms art as an essential dimension of a well-rounded education, expanding students’ repertoire, strengthening authorship, and reinforcing the school as a space for creativity and critical thinking,” says Laís Ribeiro, Head of Middle Years and High School.
