Knowledge Bootcamp Marks High School Students’ Entry into the Diploma Programme

The event represents the beginning of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Year 10 students.

Held on March 27 and 28, the Knowledge Bootcamp brought together Year 10 High School students for a dynamic program that combined collaborative challenges, knowledge-building, and academic depth. The goal is clear: to provide structured guidance from the outset, blending experience and methodology to support a smooth transition into the Diploma Programme.

The opening took place at Escape 60’, where students participated in activities that required strategic thinking, effective communication, and teamwork-based problem-solving. Back on campus, they continued the program with community-building activities, concluding the day with an overnight experience at school.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the academic framework of the program. The schedule was organized around core DP components, beginning with academic integrity and an overview of the assessment timeline. Students then took part in sessions dedicated to the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and CAS, with a strong emphasis on pathway design, planning, and informed decision-making.

Throughout the day, activities such as yoga, a conversation with graduating students, and writing a letter to their future selves fostered moments of reflection and forward thinking. These experiences reinforce the purpose of the Knowledge Bootcamp: to prepare students not only for the demands of the IB but also for the conscious construction of their own paths.

“By bringing together academic guidance, hands-on experiences, and personal development, the DP Knowledge Bootcamp establishes a strong and structured starting point for the Diploma Programme. The initiative lays the groundwork for each student to move forward with clarity, independence, and consistency over the next two years, says Laís Ribeiro, Head of Middle Years and High School.”
