RED HOUSE Students Win Gold and Silver at the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad

Students from the Perdizes campus who participate for the first time in the OBA advance to the national stage and may represent Brazil in international competitions.

RED HOUSE is proud to announce yet another remarkable achievement: our students Nicholas and Rodrigo, from Year 11 at the Perdizes campus, earned gold and silver medals, respectively, at the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad (OBA), one of the most prestigious scientific events in the country.

Held annually in public and private schools across Brazil, the OBA aims to spark interest in astronomy and astronautics through high-level intellectual challenges. This year, RED HOUSE participated for the first time, on an experimental basis, with only three students registered. The outcome exceeded all expectations: two medals—one gold and one silver—were awarded, showcasing not only the talent of our students but also the school’s commitment to offering new academic experiences.

With this achievement, Rodrigo and Nicolas advance to the national selection stage, which consists of three additional tests and could lead them to represent Brazil in international competitions such as the OLAA (Latin American Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad) and the IOAA (International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics).

“In light of the success of this first participation, we are already preparing to expand the project, encouraging more students to take part in future editions of the OBA and strengthening the focus on space sciences within our curriculum,” says Diego Lopez, Head of Middle Years and High School.

Congratulations to our medalists!
